帶著大聯盟生涯156勝戰績，犀牛大咖洋投賈西亞上週初登板對中信兄弟投6局用77球無失分，下一場先發預計16日在客場出戰獅隊，總教練大威表示，會讓他拉長局數和用球數。

這也是賈西亞首度造訪台南球場，台灣氣候逐漸轉熱，但他說，在委內瑞拉、邁阿密待過，適應炎熱不成問題。

賈西亞強化犀牛先發戰力，去年勝投王林晨樺仍陷低潮，大威表示，會讓林晨樺在二軍多投幾場比賽，歸隊暫無時間表，而上週頂起缺口的蕭一傑，對象隊5局無失分拿下中職生涯先發首勝，表現優異，續留輪值，預定週日再先發。

希克兼任投手教練，表現令大威滿意，近日將回歸專職球員，球團找來新投手教練傑森（Martin Thomas Janzen），昨天開始隨隊，等工作證核發即可接手。傑森2004年效力誠泰，和林英傑當過隊友，但只出賽1場，防禦率高達18，之前曾在獨立聯盟執教。
