【王覺一╱綜合報導】老虎先發投手今年季後賽接力以三振寫紀錄，昨由賽揚強投韋蘭德(Justin Verlander)先發8局只被敲4安，飆10次三振，偏偏7局上失投被紅襪拿坡里(Mike Napoli)轟出陽春砲，終場以0比1飲恨。

韋蘭德失投 雷奇奪勝

老虎首戰先發投手桑契茲(Anibal Sanchez)6局12K，第2戰薛澤(Max Scherzer)7局13K，連同韋蘭德，3大先發在美聯冠軍賽前3場投21局共飆出35K，紅襪雖被K得滿頭包，昨天全場也挨了11K，卻在系列賽取得2勝1敗優勢。
韋蘭德近況絕佳，在拿坡里開轟前，季後賽連續21局無失分，連同例行賽最後3場，連續34局無失分，偏偏96哩(約154公里)失投速球付出輸球代價。這是今年季後賽第4場1比0定勝負的比賽，韋蘭德參與2場，老虎最後都是輸家。
紅襪雷奇(John Lackey)先發6.2局被敲4安打，單場8K創個人季後賽新高。日籍投手田澤純一與上原浩治在8局下接力三振重砲卡布瑞拉(Miguel Cabrera)與費爾德(Prince Fielder)，化解一、三壘危機，為紅襪守住重要勝利。
