「神之右手」Pedro Martinez曾經效力於大都會，他在接受紐約電視台訪問時表示，Matt Harvey比他更具有天分，未來有機會超越他的成就。

Martinez在今年以紅襪球員身份進入名人堂，生涯18年409次先發219勝100敗，獲得5次自責分率王，2004年幫助紅襪拿下世界大賽冠軍。

過去效力過道奇、博覽會(國民前身)、紅襪、大都會及費城人，Martinez的黃金時期在紅襪，但他仍關注大都會的狀況。

大都會王牌投手「黑暗騎士」Matt Harvey歷經TJ手術回歸，今年開季勇奪5連勝自責分率2.41，身手也被Martinez注意到。

「我認為他比我還更具有天分，他也有更好的契機，能夠締造超越我的成就。」Martinez表示。

Martinez談到當時的球員生涯，他就只是大聯盟茫茫人海中的1名投手，必須要透過努力才能成功。

Martinez說：「當時我很認真鑽研每位對手，我希望Harvey也能這麼做。學習比賽、適應環境、增進技術，能做到這些的話，他的極限比我還高。」
