雖然金鶯靠戴維斯(Chris Davis)擊出本季第51發全壘打追平比數，與9局上突破紅襪終結者上原浩治(見圖2)的封鎖，終場3比2勝紅襪，但因光芒昨輸球，紅襪在美聯東區的封王魔術數字降至M3，最快台灣時間明天奪下睽違6年的美聯東區冠軍

戴維斯的第51轟也打破金鶯單季最多全壘打紀錄。兩隊2比2平手僵局在9局上被突破，賽前上原已連續解決37位打者、連30.1局無失分，但面對首棒打者瓦倫西亞(Danny Valencia)就被擊出三壘安打，魏特斯(Matt Wieters)隨即補上高飛犧牲打，上原失掉關鍵1分。
上原說：「我不難過紀錄被中止，但球隊輸球我很自責。」金鶯仍落後光芒2場勝差排名美聯外卡第4，能否追近，將看今天陳偉殷的先發表現。(記者王翊亘)
