Kluber終於發威單場飆18K

印地安人隊Corey Kluber台北時間14日對紅雀隊之戰，終於發威，他先發8局飆出驚人的18次三振，只被敲出1支安打，終場印地安人2比0擊敗紅雀，Corey Kluber終於拿到本季個人第1勝（5敗）。

Corey Kluber去年戰績18勝9敗、防禦率2.44，拿到美國聯盟的賽揚獎，但今年開季以來，卻是一勝難求，先前吞下5連敗，防禦率5.04，直到今天，Kluber才發威，投出賽揚獎投手的價值。

此戰，Kluber第1局觸身球保送紅雀隊的Matt Holliday之後，連續解決18名打者，直到第7局才被Jhonny Peralta敲出安打，這也是他被擊出唯一的1支安打，其中第3局及第4局他連續三振了6名打者。

Kluber先發8局猛飆18次三振，沒有投出保送，單場18K，他追平了Bob Feller創於1938年的隊史紀錄，也是自1998年Roger Clemens之後，美國聯盟單場投出最多三振的投手。

Kluber投完8局，已經用了113球，第9局未再登板，因此沒有機會向 Kerry Wood及Roger Clemens共同保持單場20K的大聯盟紀錄挑戰，9局Cody Allen上場再投出1次三振，救援成功（5救援）。

此戰印地安人隊1局下就靠著Brandon Moss、David Murphy的連續安打攻得致勝的2分，總教練Terry Francona在第4局被趕出場，紅雀隊先發投手John Lackey投5.1局失2分，吞敗投（2勝2敗）。
