奧利維拉2度來台洲際盃奪MVP

【楊逸民╱綜合報導】29歲奧利維拉是古巴國家隊常客，曾在2007年世界盃、2010年洲際盃隨古巴隊來台，還奪得2010年洲際盃大會最有價值球員。2012年雖因健康因素未再入選國家隊，但道奇仍看好他實力給了大合約。
奧利維拉2007年無役不與，包括2008北京奧運、2009經典賽，經典賽被評為古巴潛力好手第4，次於查普曼(Aroldis Chapman，現紅人)、塞斯佩達(Yoenis Cespedes，現老虎)與古瑞耶爾(Yulieski Gourriel，現日職橫濱)，是大聯盟球探注目焦點。
2012年他左手二頭肌血栓休養1年，去年9月叛逃到海地準備挑戰大聯盟。傳聞他右手肘韌帶有斷裂疑慮，讓許多球團遲遲不敢下手，所以道奇合約註明，合約期間(2015~2020年)若右手必須動手術治療，2021年球團可以無條件以100萬美元(約3149萬台幣)年薪續約。
