強投席爾茲落腳教士 4年7500萬美元

美國職棒大聯盟(MLB)全明星賽(All-Star)強投席爾茲(James Shields)11日宣布，以4年7,500萬美元的合約，加入聖地牙哥教士隊(San Diego Padres)。

席爾茲在記者會中表示，他將全力為教士隊贏得世界大賽(World Series)冠軍。他說：「如果我沒記錯，這將會是聖地牙哥有史以來第一個冠軍。我將接受這項挑戰。」

今年33歲的席爾茲原本是堪薩斯皇家的王牌投手。他生涯曾兩度在世界大賽中登板投球。一次是2008年效力於坦帕灣光芒時，另一次則是去年為皇家隊主投。但兩次都未能幫助球隊登上王座，因此就他個人而言，也是在追求生涯的第一個世界大賽冠軍。

席爾茲在大聯盟的9個球季中，成績114勝、90敗，防禦率為3.72(ERA，earned run average；自責分率)。
