白襪「超級菜鳥」Jose Abreu掃出本季第35支全壘打，成為隊史在1983年Ron Kittle之後，第2位能在新人年達到此門檻的球員。

今天(15日)白襪以4比6敗給雙城，Abreu在9局下從對方終結者Glen Perkin手中敲出左外野平飛陽春砲，充分展現打擊力道。

白襪隊友Adam Eaton都不禁讚嘆，「當時打擊區有陰影，我甚至不確定他(Abreu)有看清楚來球。但他的能力足夠把球送出去，這無疑是秀出Abreu的力量。」

Abreu本季出賽133場，打擊三圍0.322/0.384/0.604(打擊率/上壘率/長打率)，有35支全壘打102分打點，另外吞下121次三振。

新人年就有35轟，Abreu追平隊史1983年的Ron Kittle，他說：「我對於Ron Kittle當年的表現相當尊敬，現在跟他共同保有紀錄，我感到相當榮耀。」
