紅人查普曼球均速161 可望成大聯盟史上第1

紅人隊古巴「亡命火投」查普曼(Aroldis Chapman)進入大聯盟第5年，本季可望名留青史，他今年到現在直球的平均球速達100.3英哩(約161公里)，大聯盟網站報導指出，若能夠維持下去，他將能夠名列史上第一位，而且是唯一均速達到3位數的投手。

查普曼2010年以5年2775萬美元加盟紅人，一開始以先發為主，因為表現不穩定的關係，被調至牛棚，同年進入大聯盟至今也從未先發一場，2011年起更成球隊終結者，已為紅人拿下106次救援成功，44.1局投出多達87次三振，每9局三振多達17.7人，而且只被擊出19支安打。

此外，查普曼本季雖然沒有像剛進入大聯盟時創下105英哩的球速，不過摧出100英哩以上的對他來說有如家常便飯，平均球速達100.3英哩，若能夠維持下去，將成為2006年新版測速儀使用以來，均速最快，史上唯一達三位數的投手，原紀錄也由他保持，在2010年創下99.6英哩球速。

更恐怖的是，本季大聯盟有14位投手投出100英哩以上速球，共出現469次，而查普曼一個人就占了325次，比重超過四分之三，第二名的皇家隊賀瑞拉(Kelvin Herrera)投出46次，兩人相差多達279次，要說查普曼是當今最「火」的投手一點都不為過。

紅人總教練普萊斯(Bryan Price)對於查普曼「非人類」的投球相當讚嘆，「我不記得他投連續投過幾個那種速度的球，從進場到結束，每一戰都在99到102英哩之間游走。他剛上大聯盟時熱身需要投40到45球，現在只要15到20球就可以。」
