游擊出賽2584場 吉特史上第2

【楊逸民╱綜合報導】洋基球星吉特(Derek Jeter，見圖)昨出戰白襪，完成個人生涯第2584場以游擊手身分出賽的里程碑，在大聯盟史上排名第2多，而洋基昨延長10局上靠艾斯貝瑞(Jacoby Ellsbury)致勝陽春砲，以4比3擊敗白襪。
僅次維茲蓋爾
吉特昨超越名人堂球員艾帕瑞西歐(Luis Aparicio)獨居第2，但他要挑戰史上第1已不可能，因為他今年確定球季結束後退休，而史上第1的維茲蓋爾(Omar Vizquel)出賽2709場，吉特肯定無法在今年球季結束前突破這項紀錄。
吉特說：「能夠和艾帕瑞西歐相提並論讓我感到很榮幸，畢竟要達成這項紀錄，我們都要有鐵打的身體。我也很榮幸能做好自己的工作，隨時保持健康的身體可以天天出賽。」
