〔自由時報記者徐正揚／綜合報導〕大聯盟各隊今年季後已在自由球員市場砸下約20億美元，但拿到大合約的先發投手卻屈指可數，原因很簡單，大家都在等田中將大，美國媒體認為，樂天金鷹應該會在耶誕節前做出決定。

「美國棒球」指出，從田中公開表態要挑戰大聯盟後，樂天球團遲遲沒有明確回應，即便入札截止日是明年2月1日，為避免影響明年戰力布局，雙方預計於這幾天再次協商，球團可能在24或25日決定是否放人。社長立花陽三表示，與田中會談時，將向他表明球團的決定。

在大聯盟與日職聯盟完成新制協議，把入札金上限訂在2000萬美元後，大聯盟各隊只要支付預期的1/4不到，美國媒體評估，樂天不滿無法藉此獲得應有補償，不放田中赴美的機率很高。田中目前按既定計畫進行自主訓練，對明年續留樂天已經做好心理準備。

爭取意願最高的洋基、遊騎兵、小熊、雙城等隊，都自動把先發輪值空出一個位置。
