洋基今天與小熊進行雙重賽，首場由日籍強投田中將大演出三振秀，8局只被打2支安打、0失分，狂飆10K，助洋基以3：0完封對手，拿下第2勝。

前兩場出賽的興奮感已過，田中將大第3次先發登板更冷靜，8局用了107球，只被敲出2支內野安打，無失分，飆出10K，另有1次四壞保送。，

「比起前兩場，我覺得今天比較冷靜了。」「神之子」田中將大拿下個人第2勝，「我很滿意今天投球的表現。」

田中補充說：「我們掌控自己的狀況，控好球，讓自己投出今天想要投的球。」

「他真的投得很好，」洋基總教練吉拉迪（Joe Girardi）說：「我們很高興他對比賽所做的調整，對我來說，這是很重要的事，他每場都有所進步。」

田中本季3場先發投22局28K，打破洋基新人投手前3戰最多三振紀錄，雷特 (Al Leiter)在1987年締造的25K紀錄；在大聯盟紀錄方面則可排在史上第三。
