寒流來襲，龍潭球場昨天最低溫只有攝氏7度，象隊球員頂著寒風練球，球團員工乾脆搬出鐵桶，點燃以前打斷的木棒升火取暖；這種「冷吱吱」的天氣，全隊要忍到過完年後，移師斗六球場春訓才能回暖。

象隊投捕教練林家緯靠近鐵桶大喊舒服，旁人笑說，這些球棒沒打斷前，價格可不便宜，算算這桶燒起來，搞不好要1萬多元。

「草總」謝長亨回想在日本打球的日子，天氣更冷，取暖招數也相同，他說：「好懷念，以前日本球員還會順便烤地瓜，真的很好玩。」
