人命關天 投手可戴頭盔

為了避免投手被「爆頭」，大聯盟擬定明年准許投手戴頭盔，有過切身之痛的Brandon McCarthy，試戴心得是：「雖然有點矬，但應該會有保護作用。」

2012年9月，當時為運動家隊效力的McCarthy，被強襲球擊中頭部，退場休息。這次大聯盟開放投手戴頭盔的消息，就是從他而來。

「就我所知，聯盟會在來年開放，」McCarthy說，「但應該不會強制投手一定要戴。」

至於大聯盟官方的說法是：「我們還在跟球員工會商量。雖然現在還不能透露細節，但已經有頭盔通過我們設定的檢驗標準，並且正在檢測其他產品。」

今年大聯盟發生兩起投手「爆頭」事件，苦主是J.A. Happ、Alex Cobb。要求保護投手的聲浪越來越高，不過也有投手不想戴頭盔投球，因為這麼一來，可能影響出手平衡。
