巨人投手菅野智之投出央聯季後賽第2輪最多的單場11次三振，締造季後賽史首次完封勝，率隊3比0勝廣島，在第2輪以3勝0敗取得優勝，只要今天再勝，就可連續2年進軍日本職棒總冠軍賽。

不敗身寫新猷

24歲田中本季出賽28場戰績24勝0敗，是日職史上繼1981年日本火腿投手間柴茂有15勝0敗後，第2位創單季勝率百分百投手，連同2012球季後段的比賽更寫下跨季29連勝。昨天完封羅德，日媒《Sponichi Annnex》隨即以「29連勝」為題報導此役。

投120球挨7安

田中此役120球完投9局，只被擊出7安打，飆9次三振，僅1次保送，但他在開賽前2局就被擊出4安，第2局甚至被攻佔一、二壘，幸好指叉球誘使羅德里崎智打成雙殺打才化解危機。田中說：「因為老是被安打，從那裡才開始壓住打擊，讓大家捏一把冷汗；能保住不失分，真是太好了！」3局後愈投愈順，直到9局只再被擊出3支分散的一壘打，最後半局以151公里速球三振對手結束比賽。
