東亞運棒球賽13日進行準決賽，中華對日本之戰，王躍霖只投1.1局失5分退場，打擊群遭壓制，只擊出4支安打，終場中華隊0比6輸日本隊，14日只能爭銅牌。

13日天津市天候不佳，氣溫降低，還飄著細雨，王躍霖狀況不理想，1局下雖化解了滿壘危機，但2局下控球不佳，投出3次保送，日本隊多幡雄一、松本晃、山川穗高連敲3支安打，攻下4分，王躍霖退場，羅國華上場中繼，井上晴哉打出高飛犧牲打，打回第5分。

日本隊4局下多幡雄一、井上晴哉連敲2支安打，攻下1分。羅國華投2局退場，由謝榮豪接替，9局再換陳禹勳。

中華隊前6局在日本隊先發投手吉田一將的封鎖下，打出3支安打，7局換片山純一中繼，9局再換石川步後援。
