〔自由時報記者郭羿婕／綜合報導〕為了爭取大聯盟9月擴編機會，王建民回到藍鳥3A後，首度轉任中繼出賽，對雙城3A卻只投0.2局被敲3支安打、失2分退場，沒有搶眼表現，對他想再上大聯盟依然不利。

建仔在第5局球隊1分落後時登板，面對5名打者，連挨二壘打、三壘打、一壘打，還被發動1次盜壘成功，只抓到2個出局數。建仔遭長程砲火擊退，本季在3A防禦率升至2.87。

王建民去年效力國民隊時，也曾嘗試擔任長中繼，只是效果並不好，由於他兩度因肩傷開刀，需要較長的熱身時間，中繼對他其實是一大負擔。

建仔右手動刀植入13支錨釘，即使投球仍會不舒服，但為了重返大聯盟，他始終不願放棄，一路走來不順遂，卻已是近年最完整的球季，對肩膀兩度手術的投手，已很不容易。
