【楊逸民╱綜合報導】洋基、金鶯昨起展開3連戰，洋基王牌「沙胖」沙巴西亞(CC Sabathia)狀況仍不穩，昨先發5局失5分，但洋基打線全面開火，索瑞安諾(Alfonso Soriano)、鈴木一朗先後開轟，帶動全隊13安攻勢，終場8比5獲勝，沙胖驚險奪下本季第12勝，洋基戰績也只差金鶯半場勝差。

洋基攻勢全集中在4、5局，拿下7分奠定勝基。金鶯先發岡薩雷茲(Miguel Gonzalez)投4局就掉7分退場，近6場先發有3場投不滿5局就遭KO；他生涯前5場先發，在洋基球場投25.2局只失8分，昨天掉7分，他說：「我也沒辦法解釋怎麼會這樣。」
這個系列賽很重要，因為金鶯、洋基目前在美聯外卡分別排第3、4順位，都還有搶晉級季後賽希望，但金鶯若後面2場比賽都輸，遭洋基橫掃，不但戰績會被洋基超越，外卡也會被領先群拉開。
