蒙特婁想返MLB 還缺場地

美國職棒大聯盟(MLB)主席曼佛瑞德(Rob Manfred)30日表示，加拿大蒙特婁市如果想要重返美國職棒，必須先承諾興建一個新的體育場。

美國職棒大聯盟的紐約大都會(New York Mets)和多倫多藍鳥(Toronto Blue Jays)，去年曾在蒙特婁進行表演賽，吸引了9萬6,350多名觀眾進場。曼佛瑞德指出，這顯示，棒球這項運動在蒙特婁仍有很大的吸引力。

不過曼佛瑞德說，在大聯盟認真考慮重新在此設立球隊前，必須獲得蒙特婁更強的承諾，即需要一個適合比賽的球場。

蒙特婁過去曾有大聯盟球隊。1969年蒙特婁博覽會隊(Montreal Expos)加入美國職棒大聯盟國家聯盟(National League)，一直到2004年才移地到美國華盛頓，並改名為華盛頓國民隊(Washington Nationals)。

在蒙特婁博覽會隊的最後7個球季，進場觀看球賽的觀眾都沒有超過100萬人。
