紅雀再見暴傳 巨人延長賽險勝

國聯冠軍賽第3戰，紅雀與巨人纏鬥到延長賽，十局下出現投手要命暴傳，功虧一簣，奉送致勝分，最終以4：5敗給巨人，系列賽以1勝2負落後。

紅雀先發投手雷奇(John Lackey)首局就被打4安打、失掉4分，好在之後回穩，但落後4分的紅雀只能在後苦苦追趕，四局先兩支安打，王寇頓(Kolten Wong)再敲出2分打點的三壘安打；六局上，紅雀以兩支安打再攻下1分；七局上，菜鳥葛里查克(Randal Grichuk)的陽春砲，扳成4平。

打完9局仍分不出勝負，進入延長賽，十局下，紅雀派出39歲老將裘特(Randy Choate)上場後援，先是保送，接著被裴瑞茲(Juan Perez)安打，突然被布蘭可(Gregor Blanco)採用觸擊短打，裘特接球後暴傳，讓二壘跑者奔回本壘，得到致勝分，巨人以5：4獲勝。

「我們打得很艱辛，」巨人總教練波契（Bruce Bochy）表示：「有時候運氣是產生在事情做好後，裴瑞茲觸擊失敗後的安打、或許有幸運成分在，但布蘭可的觸擊很漂亮。」

裘特賽後無奈地表示：「看到王寇頓來補位，我就把球這麼傳出去了，球脫離我想要的方向偏左又偏低的飛出去。」這記再見暴傳讓紅雀付出了輸球的代價。
