田中將上場打擊 吉總不看好

洋基將於10日來到密爾瓦基面對王維中所屬的釀酒人隊作客，首戰田中將大要銜命登板，屆時他將上場打擊，而這是他離開日本職棒之後的初體驗，即使過去交流戰時期有打擊經驗，田中仍表示心裡還是有點畏懼，此時吉拉迪(Joe Girardi)又想起2008年王建民的狀況，不太願再看到投手上去打擊。

田中在甲子園時期是名強打，進入東北樂天金鷹之後就專注於投球，累積37個打數只擊出3支安打，打擊率僅0.081。即使來到大聯盟的美國聯盟，大部份時間投手可以不用上場打擊，然而遇到跨聯盟比賽，來到國家聯盟的場子，投手還是得乖乖拿著棒子上場打擊。

這位25歲投手對於打擊坦言，他不像隊友沙巴西亞(CC Sabathia)那樣躍躍欲試，反而還有點怕，「對於要觸擊的狀況，我真的能夠做到，只是我現在沒有想要揮擊的意思。」即使前幾天已經參與打擊練習，田中還是對於新任務有些排斥，就連吉拉迪也是如此。

田中是目前球隊最穩的投手，相當於2008年的王建民，這讓吉拉迪想起當時的噩夢，6月15日洋基來到當時還在國聯的太空人隊作戰，結果建仔因為跑壘造成右腳受傷，不僅該季報銷，整個職棒生涯也因此有很大的巨變，至今仍在為當時所造成的後果掙扎，「洋基王牌」已成過去式。

被問到田中即將上場打擊，吉總還是不看好這件事能有多順利發展，甚至希望它別發生，「我知道某些人對於能夠打擊很興奮，可是我不確定自己對這件事的興奮程度為何。」
