道奇王牌投手Clayton Kershaw在熱身賽對響尾蛇先發，投2局被敲5安失3分，表現有失水準，最後以1比4敗給響尾蛇。

道奇將和響尾蛇於3月23、24日進行海外熱身賽，Kershaw原本預定為首戰先發，不過，賽後被問到是否前往澳洲，Kershaw將問題推給總教練Don Mattingly。

是否願意在澳洲投球呢?Kershaw又一次把問題推給了Mattingly，Mattingly也對先發輪值守口如瓶。

根據Mattingly說法，Kershaw熱身賽應該能投90球，甚至更多，Kershaw此役投2局被敲5安、2三振、1保送的內容，似乎有失剛與道奇簽下7年2.15億美元的水準。

不過，Mattingly並不擔心。

一年前，Kershaw在一場春訓熱身賽，投2局被敲4安失2分，熱身賽防禦率4.18，隨後在球季中，繳出16勝9敗、防禦率1.83佳績。

「我是結果論的傢伙，我想看見結果，想看見出局數，所以今天的表現有很多待改進。」Kershaw說。

他認為自己的控球待加強，尤其是慢速球，其中，還有一記曲球三振掉Miguel Montero，「老實說，那球有點偏高了。」Kershaw退場後，又在牛棚模擬一局。

假使Kershaw決定參加海外開幕賽，在出發前往澳洲前，預計還有3至4場登板機會調整。
