「平成怪物」松坂大輔與大都會再續前緣，大都會宣布雙方簽下小聯盟合約，並邀請他參加大聯盟春訓。

松坂將與John Lannan、Jenrry Mejia、Carlos Torres、Jacob deGrom、Rafael Montero 競爭第5號先發。

現年33歲的松坂，去年季中被印地安人釋出後，被大都會找去擔任替補先發，繳出3勝3敗，防禦率4.42。

不過，松坂在大都會的前3場先發出賽慘不忍睹，戰績0勝3敗，防禦率高達10.95，直到最後4場先發以3連勝收尾，且4戰防禦率僅1.37，成為雙方續約關鍵。
