前費城人隊救援投手Ryan Madson與皇家隊簽下小聯盟合約，並獲邀參加大聯盟春訓，Ryan Madson期待可以東山再起。

34歲的Ryan Madson過去效力費城人隊，2003年他還22歲時即登上大聯盟舞台，2011年是費城人隊的守護神，戰績4勝2敗、防禦率2.37，2012年Ryan Madson與紅人隊簽1年合約，但春訓時手肘受傷，動了手肘靭帶置換手術（Tommy John），整季報銷，進入漫長的復健。

去年Ryan Madson加入天使隊，希望可以東山再起，但只在天使1A出賽一場再因手肘受傷，無法上場投球；現在皇家隊給了Ryan Madson一次機會，Ryan Madson將尋求東山再起。

Ryan Madson生涯在大聯盟出賽491場，戰績47勝30敗52救援、防禦率3.59。
