紅人隊終結者查普曼(Aroldis Chapman，見圖)就在與皇家熱身賽中，被球擊中臉部當場倒地，隨後立即送醫院接受檢查，目前確認左眼與鼻子附近骨折，還無法確認傷勢有多嚴重。狀況發生在6局下，查普曼才剛換上場，他在2出局滿壘情況下面對裴瑞茲(Salvador Perez)，查普曼投出一顆99哩(約159公里)快速球，裴瑞茲立即將球揮擊到他臉上，球還彈到三壘線外，查普曼倒地不起，隨後就被擔架抬出場，緊急送往醫院治療，比賽當場取消。(記者賴德剛)
